Belarus strengthens it's Ukraine border with 6 battalions - Defense Ministry
Up to 6 Belarusian battalions have deployed on the border with Ukraine in the Gomel and Brest regions.
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Motuzyanyk made a statement at a briefing.
"Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces up to six battalions are strengthening the section of the Belarusian-Ukrainian border in Brest and Gomel regions and trying to conduct air reconnaissance in the border areas with Ukraine and Poland," he said.
The spokesman added that the threat of missile and air strikes from the territory of Belarus remains.
Motuzyanyk also noted that the Russian command is preparing saboteurs from the Belarusian military for subversive activities against Ukraine.
"We are not yet recording the formation of any offensive Russian group on the territory of this country. Intelligence reports that the facts of training by Russian forces on the territory of this part of sabotage and reconnaissance groups from among the Belarusian servicemen are being recorded," he said.
