Belarus starts upgrading Uragan systems located near border with Ukraine, Poland

The Belarusian army has started modernizing its Uragan MLRS systems amid Lukashenko's statements that the country was strengthening its military to deter the unnamed enemy

"A batch of 9K57 Uragan multiple launch rocket systems has been sent for modernization," Belarusian Hajun writes, citing the Western Operational Command channel.

The Uragan MLRS will have its petrol engines replaced with turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engines. This will increase the range and improve the MLRS's cross-country ability.

The guns will be equipped with electronic tablets with pre-installed software. The MLRS will be equipped with a GLONASS positioning system. Belarusians will also replace their regular communications equipment with more modern ones.

"Judging by the published photos, at least two 9P140 combat vehicles were sent for modernization. The loading of the equipment took place on the territory of the 111th Artillery Brigade (military unit 11921, Brest). The brigade has a rocket division armed with Hurricanes," Belarusian Hajun wrote.
