Belarus agrees to transit of Ukrainian grain to Lithuanian ports
Belarus unconditionally agreed to the transit of Ukrainian food through its territory for its export from Lithuanian ports
This is stated in the message of the spokesman of the UN Secretary General, Stephane Dujarric.
On Friday, December 9, UN Secretary General António Guterres held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Yuriy Ambrazevich. The Belarusian diplomat informed the head of the UN that Belarus agrees without preconditions to the transit of Ukrainian grain through its territory for its export from the ports of Lithuania.
Also, the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus repeated the request of his government to get the opportunity to export its own production of mineral fertilizers, since Western sanctions are currently imposed on Belarusian products.
It is not specified whether the issue of Belarus' participation in Russia's war against Ukraine was raised during the meeting.
