Bakhmut mayor reveals how many civilians remain in city
The head of Bakhmut City Military Administration, Oleksiy Reva, said that about 500 residents remained in the city
This was reported by Ukrinform.
"Before Russia's full-scale invasion, about 80,000 people lived on the territory of the Bakhmut community, of whom 70,000 were residents of the city. Today, according to our estimates, about 500 people remain in Bakhmut," said Oleksiy Reva, head of the Bakhmut City Military Administration.
According to Reva, Russia has destroyed the lives of tens of thousands of people.
"Today, Bakhmut is in ruins and ashes. It is difficult to realise that the city we all loved so much has been wiped out by Russian occupiers. After many months of war, the entire infrastructure in Bakhmut was completely destroyed, and not a single building remained standing. The Russian enemy destroyed everything! And it's not just destroyed houses, but also the lives of tens of thousands of people have been completely destroyed. These are divided families, ruined lives, broken dreams..." , said Oleksiy Reva.
