Azovstal Defenders' Families Association plans for POW release - press secretary
The Azovstal Defenders' Families Association is preparing a plan for the release of Ukrainian prisoners of war (POW) with the involvement of international organizations
This was announced by the press secretary of the association, Marianna Khomeriki, on Espreso TV.
"The Association of Families of Azovstal Defenders is going to use international mechanisms. We are currently preparing a plan that I cannot divulge. Of course, we will involve the international community, because we see that perhaps some levers are not enough to continue these exchanges. Unfortunately, it isn't clear when the next one happens. We will involve them and will report about this", she said.
The representative emphasized that the association will contact international organizations.
"Let's hope that they will also be able to do something. First of all, it is the UN and the Red Cross, because they are the guarantors of the exit and safety of the defenders of Azovstal when they left. We hope that sooner or later they will fulfill their obligations and will establish a connection with that party, because it has not been established yet. It is an international organization with international mandates that should work, but for some reason they are not working to their full potential. We hope that sooner or later the issue will be solved", Khomeriki concluded.
