Attack on Russian Navy reconnaissance ship: naval drones hit and severely damage vessel
The Russian reconnaissance ship Ivan Khurs has been allegedly damaged as a result of an attack by Ukrainian naval drones in the Black Sea
The video of the strike was posted on May 25 by an unofficial Telegram channel of the Ukrainian military.
"Footage from a maritime drone that did hit the Russian reconnaissance ship Ivan Khurs, the loss of which is quite sensitive for the Russian navy," the caption reads.
The video was also shared by the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, with a caption:
"The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that the attack was 'unsuccessful' and all three drones were destroyed, but the footage shows the opposite. Most likely, Ivan Khurs was damaged."
Ukrainska Pravda media, citing its own sources, confirmed the authenticity of the video and noted that the Russian ship was damaged in the attack.
"It did not sink, but it was hit, there is significant damage to the hull and equipment. Now Russians are hastily repairing it," the source said.
