The Kyiv District Prosecutor's Office of the city of Kharkiv has started a pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings for the laws and customs of war violation (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
"On February 5, 2023, at around 8:20 a.m., the Russian military launched a missile attack on the Kyiv district of Kharkiv. Preliminarily, the occupiers attacked Kharkiv with two S-300 type missiles from the Belgorod region territory of the Russian Federation," the message said.
One missile hit a university building, damaging it severely and injuring a keeper.
"Another enemy missile hit near a residential building, injuring four: a 58-year-old man, two 54-year-old women, and an 83-year-old woman," the prosecutor's office said.
As of 09:14, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleg Syniehubov reported three victims: a woman hospitalized with shrapnel wounds, two men were provided with urgent medical aid.
Kharkiv mayor Ihor Terekhov informed that the rocket hit a residential building in the central part of the city.
"One of the rockets hit a residential building in the center of Kharkiv with one building set on fire and one person injured," he wrote.
At 08:38, the mayor of Kharkiv reported the impact of the enemy missile attack on the city center, Kyiv district.
"The number of victims is being clarified, the emergency services are already working at the spot, clearing the rubble and conducting a search operation," the mayor said.
The head of Kharkiv regional military administration wrote about the attack in a telegram.
As of 08:30, in his Telegram chat, Oleh Syniehubov reported the explosion in the central part of Kharkiv: preliminarily, a S-300 missile.
At 08:21, he warned about the Russian attack on Kharkiv and the region; an air raid alarm was on.
