Artillery units of Russian troops may face ammunition shortage in next 2-3 months - General Staff
Russian forces have almost used up the entire stock of artillery ammunition stored in warehouses in central Russia
This was reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in a morning briefing on March 9.
According to preliminary information, the Russian Armed Forces have almost used up the entire stock of artillery ammunition stored in warehouses in central Russia. Therefore, ammunition is now being moved to the territory of the temporarily occupied part of Ukraine from warehouses located in other regions of Russia. This significantly increases the delivery time.
According to the General Staff, the condition and quality of new batches of ammunition is also unsatisfactory due to improper storage and violations of maintenance rules. Almost 50% of them show visible signs of rust damage.
"Given the intensity of hostilities and the existing unsatisfactory condition of ammunition, we should expect a shortage of ammunition in the artillery units of the Russian army over the next 2-3 months," the statement said.
