Arrested funds of Russian oligarchs can be used as direct financial assistance to Ukraine, but this is a complex process - political and economic expert
Valeriy Klochok noted that it is likely that a fund for assistance to Ukraine will be created from such funds
He announced this on the air of Espreso TV.
Klochok noted that the frozen assets will need to be sold to someone in order to directly receive money for the judge's decision.
"I would not flatter myself with the opinion that all the frozen funds will go to Ukraine. If we take into account the arrested gold and foreign exchange funds by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, the situation there has not yet been determined either. They are frozen, but it is not known how to use them. Here, each country will most likely make its own decisions", the expert said.
Klochok also added that, probably, a fund for the perception of Ukraine will be formed at the expense of the frozen money: "The European Union already announced the establishment of such a fund at the end of March. Thus, we will have funding for various programs in Ukraine. I think that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine could be the administrator of these funds. Because there are no clear statements that the funds will be received specifically for certain needs. The fate of such a fund is still to be determined", he emphasized.
