Another thousand Russian soldiers contacted hotlines to surrender
Since the start of "I want to live" hotline, three thousand Russian soldiers, their families and recruits have applied to surrender to Ukrainian captivity
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports.
"Since the start of the project, we have already received more than 3,000 requests from the Russian military. For security reasons, we are not giving the number of those who voluntarily surrendered," said Vitaly Matvienko, the spokesperson of the state project "I want to live".
The speaker says that the project fully justified itself, because there is a result - the occupiers are actively surrendering.
The hotline is mainly contacted by families, relatives of the invaders and Russians who are waiting for a summons, as well as Russian military personnel on the territory of Ukraine.
"At the beginning of the start of the project and its publicity, we were mostly approached by those who were soon to be mobilized. And now the frequency of appeals goes towards the mobilized and those who are already on the territory of Ukraine," Matvienko added.
On October 6, we reported that in the first weeks of the "I want to live" project, Russians called its hotline more than 2,000 times. During these two weeks, the number of volunteers increased by a thousand.
