An-225 "Mriya" aircraft could not be lifted into the sky due to the threat of losing the crew - press secretary of the State Enterprise "Antonov"

She spoke about this on the air of Espreso.TV.

"We did everything possible that depended on us to move the AN-225 "Mriya" aircraft from Gostomel airport. The situation was very difficult. We managed to take out 5 An-124 "Ruslan" aircraft. The latter took off right before the start of hostilities. "Mriya" was also supposed to take off, but the situation was already very difficult. Since the sky was closed, there was a threat to lose the crew of the aircraft. Now there is an investigation into this case. I can’t give any details yet and suggest waiting for official information", Drozdova said

Drozdova added that Ukraine will be able to rebuild the An-225 "Mriya" aircraft.

"I believe that we can rebuild our "Mriya". Interesting moment was when one of the aircraft's engines started up from the wind, as if hinting to us that our Ukrainian "Mriya" is alive. Therefore, we will be able to restore this aircraft. And it will become purely Ukrainian, the updated "Mriya", added Drozdova
