Zelenskyy meets von der Leyen to discuss EU support for Ukraine’s membership and priorities
In Brussels, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. The two leaders discussed key priorities for the European Commission's work and support for Ukraine's EU accession process

Zelenskyy thanked the head of the European Commission for her personal efforts to consolidate unity in the EU around Ukraine.
The key topics of the negotiations were the priorities in the work of the new composition of the European Commission and Ukraine's accession to the EU.
"The President noted that Ukraine is counting on the opening of two clusters at the beginning of the Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union," the report says.
The meeting also discussed the use of frozen Russian assets for Ukraine's needs.
"Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked for the new macro-financial assistance from the EU in the amount of 18.1 billion euros within the framework of the G7 loan and noted that Ukraine expects to receive the first tranche in January 2025," the press service noted.
- Earlier, European Commissioner for Economy and Productivity Valdis Dombrovskis held a conversation with Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and confirmed the provision of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of €18.1 billion.
