US announces new $6 billion military aid package for Ukraine
Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin has announced the largest military aid package from the United States to Ukraine, totaling $6 billion.
He announced after the Ramstein meeting, which was broadcast on Espreso.
"I am pleased to announce $6 billion in assistance to Ukraine," Austin said.
The Pentagon chief noted that these funds will allow the United States to purchase weapons for the Ukrainian military from American manufacturers. He also emphasized that this support package is the largest.
"It will include critical interceptors for the NASAMS and Patriot systems. More drones and other equipment. A large amount of artillery ammunition and surface-to-air missiles. We need to make sure that this assistance is sustainable," Austin said.
According to him, the United States also decided to provide Ukraine with long-range ATCAMS systems. At the same time, the official added: Ukraine can move to a long-range military campaign.
"The most important thing is that Ukraine has what it needs - it has power. This is not a single bullet, so to speak. This is a comprehensive approach to the use of other systems provided by other countries. Ukraine can move to a long-range military campaign," Austin said.
