Ukraine expects Swedish Gripen fighter jet deliveries

Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk, Ukraine's Deputy Defense Minister, stated this in an interview with the BBC.

According to him, additional deliveries of F-16, French Mirage, and Swedish Gripen aircraft are currently expected. However, Havryliuk declined to provide details on the number of fighters or the timeline for their receipt by Ukraine.

The Deputy Defense Minister also confirmed that Kyiv has already received the first aid deliveries under the PURL mechanism, through which European states purchase weapons for Ukraine from the U.S.

"Previously, under the Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) packages, we received aid from the U.S. rhythmically and in larger volumes. Today's system, where European countries purchase weapons for us from the Americans, requires a certain amount of time. The more links in the chain, the more time is lost," he added.

• In July, it was reported that Ukraine has developed unique mobile systems for servicing F-16 fighters, which, in particular, significantly speed up and simplify the process of mounting munitions.
