Rescue center for Ukrainian lions opens in UK
A rescue center for lions evacuated from Ukraine has been opened in Kent, United Kingdom
This was reported by Ukraine’s Ambassador to the UK and former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi.
"The UK has welcomed hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians fleeing Russian bombs and missiles. Our people were given shelter, homes were opened to them, and children were provided with education and support. But that’s not all," Zaluzhnyi stated.
He shared that a lion rescue center was recently opened in Kent, where animals evacuated from Ukraine now reside.
"Five Ukrainian lions, who are living witnesses of the war. Due to hostilities, many animals in Ukraine were left without food, warmth, or care. Volunteers, veterinarians, and the entire team of The Big Cat Sanctuary have done an incredible job, giving these Ukrainian animals a new home. Now they are safe," Zaluzhnyi added.
- On the night of March 3, Russian forces attacked the village of Lisne in the Kharkiv region with a drone strike, hitting the territory of Feldman Ecopark. As a result of the shelling, several animals were killed.
