Pere Joan Pons Sampietro arrived in Ukraine on an official visit. Speaking in parliament, he emphasized that the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly recognizes Crimea solely as part of Ukraine.

He also stated that Russia is unlawfully holding three OSCE representatives.

"One of our priorities is the return of these three staff members. We raise this issue at every meeting," said Pere Joan Pons Sampietro.

He highlighted the importance of coordinated international efforts to ensure the safe return of Ukrainian children.

"It must be clearly stated that abducting children from their homes, forcing assimilation, and abusing them is not only a war crime — it is a moral issue," stressed the OSCE PA president.

Pere Joan Pons Sampietro added that in the context of Ukraine, the organization will continue to amplify its voice and respond to all Russian attacks.

"Ukraine remains our top priority," he concluded.
