No signs of U.S. military aid to Ukraine slowing down — military expert Zgurets

Defense Express CEO and military expert Serhiy Zgurets says that there has been a significant increase in arms supplies from European countries, while the supply of weapons from the United States continues

He shared the information on Espreso TV.

“There were periods at the beginning of the war when Western aid was insufficient. There were certain restrictions on the supply of small arms and anti-tank missile systems (ATGMs). Let’s recall the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024 when no American aid arrived for six months. However, the front line remained under control, although there was indeed an advance by the enemy. Due to the lack of artillery and artillery ammunition, Russia captured Avdiivka,” Zgurets said.

According to the military expert, there has been a significant increase in arms supplies from European countries, while deliveries from the U.S. continue. There are no signs so far that the contracts signed with the U.S. for the supply of arms to Ukraine will be delayed.

“Currently, there is resilience in the arms supply process, and the significant increase in the production of drones for various purposes, which sometimes compensates for the limited number of artillery shells, helps strengthen defense. Additionally, new weapon systems are emerging that can influence the course of combat operations. I believe this is enough to hold back the enemy and prevent a collapse on the front line while simultaneously expanding our own reserves,” Zgurets emphasized.

The military expert added that Russian advances are currently minimal in all directions, while losses are enormous.

“At the moment, the strategy of exhausting the enemy, sometimes exchanging territory for enemy losses, remains in place,” Zgurets concluded.

  • On Monday, February 24, 98 combat clashes were recorded on the Russian-Ukrainian front. The heaviest fighting took place in the Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka directions.
