The Defense Ministry's press service reported the information.

They clarified that the military received high-precision munitions of domestic production, purchased for 10 million euros, which Lithuania's Defense Ministry allocated in December 2024. This was the first tranche of aid provided under the Memorandum of Understanding on the creation of a support mechanism for Ukraine’s security and defense forces through investments in Ukraine’s defense industry.

"Lithuanian aid is not just real support for Ukrainian soldiers but also an investment in the strength, independence, and resilience of Ukraine. Such steps allow us to strengthen our defense capabilities today," said Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.

"Ukraine's fight for self-defense is also the defense of freedom for Europe, and Lithuania’s support will continue as long as it is needed for Ukraine’s victory. Our commitment remains strong, resolute, and unwavering. Lithuania will remain a steadfast ally, ready to assist in any way until Ukraine achieves victory," said Lithuanian Defense Minister Dovilė Šakalienė.

Ukraine's Defense Ministry is currently working in close coordination with Lithuanian partners to implement the next tranche of 10 million euros.

  • In March, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda announced readiness to send troops to Ukraine as part of a potential peacekeeping mission following a ceasefire.
