Germany will continue military aid to Ukraine, even if U.S. halts support — Pistorius
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius assured that Germany will continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine, even if the United States does not
He made this statement during an appearance on ARD.
He underscored that the coalition agreement guiding the formation of the incoming government—where he is poised to continue as Defense Minister—explicitly enshrines this commitment.
Among other things, this document provides for comprehensive support for Ukraine to effectively defend itself against the Russian aggressor and to defend its position in negotiations.
“If Ukraine falls, if Putin wins this war in the sense that he occupies Ukraine in full or a significant part of it, it will be the greatest threat to the NATO territory, as well as to neighboring countries such as Moldova and Georgia,” Pistorius emphasized.
He added that it is not only about solidarity with Ukraine, but also about security and peace in Europe.
