Czech Aero offers Ukraine alternative to L-159 aircraft

The Czech publication Ceske Noviny reported the information.

However, the manufacturer is prepared to offer an alternative option.

Aero President Viktor Sotona stated that the company plans to propose L-39 Skyfox aircraft to Ukraine - versatile machines with lower operating costs that can be deployed, among other purposes, for destroying unmanned aerial vehicles.

According to Sotona, Ukraine has been informed about the existence of the Skyfox for quite some time. Meanwhile, at the end of last year in Dubai, the manufacturer presented this aircraft for the first time in a light attack aircraft version - previously, only training modifications had been demonstrated.

"We believe this is a very effective drone hunter," he emphasized.

• On January 19, 2026, it was reported that the Czech Republic would not sell or transfer L-159 light combat aircraft to Ukraine, which could have been used to shoot down drones.
