On October 2 in Copenhagen, the European Political Community Summit, attended by leaders and governments of more than 50 countries, made landmark decisions in support of Ukraine and on boosting weapons production to defend both Ukrainian and European skies

This was reported on Espreso TV by Ukrainian MP and former head of the Security Service of Ukraine Valentyn Nalyvaichenko.

“Let’s look at why Putin voiced his mantras and propaganda at the Valdai forum yesterday, October 2. The answer is very simple — at the same time in Denmark, the entire anti-Putin coalition gathered, more than 50 countries together with Ukraine, at the level of heads of state and government. In my assessment, pivotal decisions were taken in support of Ukraine and on increasing arms production to defend not only Ukraine’s but also Europe’s skies.

Such decisions clearly come with funding: the European Commission has already allocated €2 billion for Ukrainian drone production, with further financing from our partners to follow,” Nalyvaichenko said.

According to him, the Copenhagen summit also approved joint production, with Ukraine’s top drone specialists helping European countries to defend both civilian and military airports.

“This was a turning point at the summit in Denmark’s capital. That’s why Putin became so nervous. European leaders also decided to completely abandon Russian gas by the end of 2026. In other words, the so-called ‘Putin regime’ has about a year left. Our American partners will continue supplying serious weaponry to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which has greatly alarmed the Kremlin and the entire Russian regime. That explains Putin’s propaganda threats,” Nalyvaichenko concluded.

  • On October 2, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Copenhagen for the European Political Community Summit and held a brief meeting with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. He also met with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
  • That same day, Russian leader Vladimir Putin, speaking at the Valdai conference, threatened that Russia could strike Ukrainian nuclear power plants.
