Agreement reached in Turkey on Ukrainian grain exports: details
An agreement to open up Ukrainian grain exports through the Black Sea is expected to be signed in Istanbul. Ukraine and Russia are to sign mirror agreements with Turkey and the UN
The details of the agreements were announced by the adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Mykhailo Podolyak, on Twitter.
According to him, Ukraine will sign the agreement, which should enable the export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea, with Turkey and the UN, but not with Russia.
"Ukraine does not sign any documents with Russia. We sign an agreement with Turkey and the UN and undertake obligations to them. Russia signs a mirror agreement with Turkey and the UN", he stressed.
According to him, Ukraine will not agree to the escort of ships by Russian ships or the presence of representatives of the Russian Federation in Ukrainian ports, and in case of provocations, it is ready for an immediate military response.
Inspections of transport vessels, if necessary, will be carried out by joint groups in the territorial waters of Turkey.
The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine reported that the agreement should be signed on behalf of Ukraine by the Minister of Transport Kubrakov, who heads the Ukrainian delegation in Istanbul. As part of the visit, the Ukrainian side held a meeting with the Secretary General of the Organization, Antonio Guterres.
"The Secretary General once again expressed his support for the unblocking of Ukrainian ports and assured that security is an indisputable priority of the UN", it is noted.
