AFU strengthen protection and anti-aircraft defense of Rivne NPP

The day before, on December 14, Commander of Joint Forces of Ukrainian Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhiy Naev and head of Volyn Operational Command, Lieutenant General Volodymyr Kravchenko visited Rivne NPP.

️"During the visit, military leaders checked the technical equipment and defense capability of the power plant's security and defense units, as well as inspected positions and protective structures. During the visit, guests learned more about the specifics of the strategic enterprise's work - they visited the turbine department, control panel of one of the power units of RNPP," the message says.

Also, during the meeting with general director of the enterprise and his deputies, measures to strengthen protection and security of the Rivne NPP in the conditions of Russian military aggression were discussed. In addition, future course of action in case of a threat of invasion by Belarus was agreed upon.

"Given strategic importance of the object, Ukrainian Armed Forces leadership strengthened protection and air defense, transferred necessary additional military equipment, and discussed ways of interaction in case of violations of stable functioning of United Energy System," Rivne NPP added.

• Earlier, head of "Come Back Alive" foundation, military expert Taras Chmut, suggested that Russians may try to take Rivne NPP under fire control.
