AFU enter Kherson, city returns to Ukraine's control - Ukrainian intelligence

“Kherson is back under the control of Ukraine, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are entering the city. The Russian forces' retreat routes are under fire control of the Ukrainian army. Any attempts to oppose Ukraine's Armed Forces will be stopped,” the message reads.

Ukrainian intelligence calls on the Russian soldiers to surrender.

“As expected, after the retreat of the main group of Russian army troops from Kherson, your command abandoned you. Your commanders urge you to change into civilian clothes and try to escape from Kherson on your own. Obviously, you will not succeed. Every Russian serviceman who resists will be destroyed. You have the only chance to avoid death - to surrender immediately,” the press service wrote.

In social networks, a video is published where Ukrainians meet their Armed Forces in the central square of Kherson.

Also, earlier that day, the people of Kherson gathered in the square to meet the Ukrainian liberators.

The Deputy Chairman of the Kherson Regional Council, Yurii Sobolevskyi, called on the residents of Kherson and the settlements on the right bank of the Dnipro to be less on the streets and to be careful in general.

“In the coming days, you need to be extremely careful! Minimize movement in the city, do not touch any suspicious objects, including abandoned vehicles and orc equipment. Do not try to enter administrative buildings and places of former Russian deployment, it can be dangerous,” Sobolevskyi wrote.
