Yuriy Korsunov, an officer with the Izyum Territorial Defense battalion deployed to the Bakhmut direction, told Espreso TV.

"First of all, we studied the enemy's tactics and their insidious actions, when they try to concentrate their forces at night and then launch assault operations. They move in waves and make various attempts to approach us both from the flank and from the rear. To avoid such situations, aerial reconnaissance and warning posts are constantly working. We managed to fully cooperate with other units. Artillery immediately shells the designated targets and we do not allow the enemy to move forward," he said.

• Earlier, Russia announced the alleged capture of Soledar, but the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces denied this statement and said that the fighting for the town continues.
