AFU confidently repel Russian attacks in Bakhmut – Lieutenant Colonel Kryzhanivskyi
The Ukrainian Defense Forces' efforts are aimed at completely driving the occupying Russian troops out of Bakhmut and its surroundings
The commander of the Force of Freedom Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Mykhailo Kryzhanivskyi said this on the Espreso TV channel.
“The operational situation in Bakhmut remains extremely difficult. The enemy keeps trying to capture Bakhmut and its surroundings. The Russian forces are trying to enter from the flanks and surround the city. However, the National Guard of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which are part of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, are confidently repelling the enemy's attacks and assaults," noted Kryzhanivskyi.
According to a lieutenant colonel of Ukraine's National Guard, Ukrainian units are not only on the defensive. There are areas and streets where units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces are conducting small counterattacks to repel enemy assaults for further advancement.
“We are trying to take more favorable positions for further offensive actions. The situation will remain difficult until Bakhmut is liberated from the Russian troops. Our efforts are aimed at completely pushing the enemy out of Bakhmut and its surroundings,” emphasized Kryzhanivskyi.
