After shelling of Odesa, Turkey should protect Ukrainian grain exports with convoy of military ships - diplomat Chaly
Turkey should respond to the shelling of the Odesa port and provide another mechanism for Ukrainian grain export
Diplomat Valery Chalyi shared his views on Espreso.
"Turkey is a party to the agreement and you can't just do nothing. This is the personal image of President Erdogan, at the briefing in Istanbul it was his victory, a huge diplomatic success. And now it is a direct spit in his face," he said.
According to the diplomat, we should expect an appropriate reaction from Turkey.
"Turkey has a fleet, there is an ambition to prevent the Russian Federation from taking the Black Sea under its control. I believe that if Erdogan does not react now, the implementation of all these agreements through another mechanism - the warships of Turkey together with other ships of the Black Sea countries can, with the support of our coast guard, ensure the convoy through the Black Sea. If he doesn’t - Erdogan will demonstrate his weakness," Chaly concluded.
