Ukraine's 79th Brigade destroys over 500 Russian soldiers, 104 armored vehicles in December
In December, paratroopers with the 79th Detached Airborne Assault Brigade destroyed and damaged 104 units of Russian armored vehicles and killed 505 soldiers
The military reported this on Facebook.
"One of the important elements that directly affect the stability of the Maroon Berets' defense is the activities of the brigade's unmanned aerial vehicle strike unit. The unit's task is to destroy enemy armored vehicles and infantry. The unit is doing a good job with this task - accurate strikes by kamikaze drones and ammunition drops have repeatedly forced the Russian troops to switch from assault to defense," the statement reads.
Thus, in December, the unit destroyed 15 pieces of Russian equipment, 6 of which were tanks, and the same number of armored combat vehicles and more than a platoon of Russian infantry.
The unit's soldiers destroy the Russian troops not only during assault operations but also in defense when they try to take cover in the dugout. However, the Russian army often uses its own damaged vehicles as cover.
The video shows drone operators destroying Russian forces in such hiding places who are trying to find shelter there.
The 79th Air Assault Brigade is currently engaged in heavy defensive battles in a difficult area. Over the last month of the year, the Tavria paratroopers destroyed and damaged 104 units of enemy armored vehicles. The Russian irrecoverable losses amounted to 505 soldiers, 765 were sanitary casualties.
- According to the General Staff, over the past day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled four Russian attacks near Stepove and Avdiivka and another 14 attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region. The Defense Forces also killed 780 soldiers.
