67-year-old Rivne man evacuates 1,800 seniors from danger zones in act of heroism

A volunteer from the Rivne region, western Ukraine, has helped 1,800 senior citizens escape from areas currently facing high levels of threat. He believes surviving unscathed was nothing short of divine intervention.

Volodymyr Brychka, a volunteer, is said to have raised 12 of his own, and two adopted children, and has 43 grandchildren.

Vitaliy Koval, chief of the Rivne regional military administration said:

“Volodymyr Brychka is still distributing humanitarian help to civilians and soldiers. He does everything to bring the victory closer, which is inspiring. I’m grateful to all the volunteers and all the indifferent people who are willing to help. Together we can withstand anything!”

The man is said to have volunteered ever since the war started in 2014. He delivered humanitarian help and building materials to the East of Ukraine, to Donetsk and Luhansk regions. He also had let a bewidowed woman and her eight children live in his house.
