6,366 sanctions imposed on Russia, Ukraine and partners work to close bypass routes - Kuleba
In 18 days, the world community imposed 3,612 sanctions against the Russian Federation, and since 2014, the number of restrictive measures against the aggressor country has reached 6,366
This was announced during a briefing by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba.
"In general, against Russia, in punishment for gross violation of international law and Russian aggression against Ukraine, in the 18 days since the invasion, the world community has imposed 3,612 sanctions... Together with the restrictions that have been introduced since 2014, the total number of sanctions against Russia is 6,366", Kuleba said.
The minister added that Russia has outstripped Iran and North Korea in terms of the number of sanctions and has become the leader of the world under sanctions.
"Russia has literally become a global exile, a toxic country that the world is turning its back on", Kuleba said.
The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also recalled the depreciation of the ruble as a result of sanctions and the blocking of the reserves of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
"We are actively working to close all ways to circumvent sanctions, close all loopholes, work closely with partners so that they use their influence, and work with third countries through which Russia is trying to circumvent sanctions. We are also working so that the cryptocurrency business does not become a safe haven for Russian money. If we cut off the oxygen to the Russian economy, then only completely", Kuleba added.
