500 Russian convicts are being trained in Luhansk region – General Staff

About 500 Russians, who were recruited in prisons, are currently training in a field camp in the Starobilsk district, Luhansk region

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this on April 27.

It is also known that instead of imprisonment, the convicts are offered a contract for military service with participation in hostilities in Ukraine for six months.

The General Staff explains that the Russian troops are doing this to replenish their manpower losses.

“Occupying Russian forces continue to actively involve persons with a criminal record or those against whom criminal cases have been opened, in particular for terrorism,” the report says.
