4 more bodies of civilians showing traces of torture have been found in the village of Zaliznychne, Kharkiv region, which was liberated from the invading Russian forces - an investigation has been launched
This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office on Telegram.
"Under the procedural leadership of the Chuhuyliv district prosecutor's office of the Kharkiv region, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the message reads.
It became known that after the deoccupation of the village of Zaliznychne in the Kharkiv region, local residents informed the law enforcement officers that Russian servicemen had killed their fellow villagers.
On September 11, law enforcement officers discovered four bodies with traces of torture. Three of them were buried on the territory of the homesteads, another one was buried on the territory of the asphalt plant opposite the railway station of the village.
"According to the preliminary version of the investigation, the victims were killed by the Russian military during the occupation of the settlement. Currently, the bodies have been sent for a forensic medical examination," the report says.
