20 percent of Russia's army in Ukraine has already been defeated - Zaluzhny

Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhnyi has said that a fifth of the Russian army, which is involved in the war with Ukraine, has been defeated.

He said this during a telephone conversation with the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley.

"We note that the Russian enemy is suffering significant losses, primarily in manpower - a fifth of the units of the Russian Armed Forces involved in hostilities in Ukraine have been defeated," he said.

According to Zaluzhnyi, combat operations are currently ongoing on 1,300 km of the front.

"I informed my American colleague about the operational situation, in particular, I emphasized that active combat operations continue today on 1,300 km of the front," he said.

In the conversation, the commander-in-chief also emphasized the need to increase artillery fire.
