Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service reported the information.
"The blocking of truck traffic in front of the Vicovu de Sus checkpoint, opposite the Ukrainian checkpoint Krasnoilsk, has been stopped," the statement reads.
The traffic of all vehicles is carried out as usual, the SBGS noted.
The border guards also reminded that only empty trucks can cross the state border of Ukraine with Romania at the Krasnoilsk checkpoint.
Blockade of truck traffic by Romanian farmers
On January 13, Romanian farmers and agrarians blocked truck traffic through the Porubne-Siret international automobile checkpoint on the border with Ukraine.
On January 14, Romanian farmers again blocked truck traffic through the Porubne-Siret checkpoint.
On January 15, Romanian farmers resumed blocking truck traffic through the Siret and Vicovu de Sus checkpoints.
Also recently, the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture stated that five eastern EU countries, including Romania, are again demanding that the EU impose import duties on grain from Ukraine. The Hungarian ministry said that the ministers of agriculture of Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia sent a letter to the European Commission.
According to the border guards, the queue of trucks was growing due to the blocking of the checkpoints.
On January 17, reports indicated that Romanian protesters were planning to block another checkpoint on the border with Ukraine.
On Thursday, January 18, farmers blocked truck traffic in front of the Halmeu-Dyakove international checkpoint on the Romanian-Ukrainian border, according to the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
