12-year-old girl abducted by Russians in Mariupol has been returned to her grandfather
Kira Obedinska, who was abducted by occupiers in Mariupol, was returned to her grandfather
This was reported by press service of Mariupol City Council.
"Daughter of Ukrainian water polo champion Yevhen Obedinsky, who died in Mariupol, was taken out of Donetsk. She is currently in Kyiv with her grandfather. Girl’s grandmother said," statement said.
It is reported that earlier occupiers took the girl from Mariupol to Donetsk.
Public Broadcasting also wrote about Kira's return. According to publication, on March 30, Russians took Kira to occupied Donetsk when she and a group of people were trying to escape on foot from Mariupol. Kira's father is former captain of Ukrainian national water polo team Yevhen Obedinsky. He was shot by Russian military while on duty on balcony of his apartment to report fire or destruction in time. Russians hit him in the head with a bullet.
